Choosing the right scooter
#1
Hi folks!

I'm in the process of buying a scooter as I need to commute from Lyngby to Copenhagen center almost everyday.

I was looking at the VGA Explora (super cheap!) from Thansen.dk. I know, I know... it is a cheap product and I shouldn't expect Yahama-like reliability.. but still!

I wonder if it will run fine for the next, let's say.. two years? I'm planning on buying the "service pack" with it, which will cover all the regular maintenance of the scooter for the next two years, and as long as I follow it the warranty should cover any trouble. Correct?
All in all will cost me something like 10.500kr to put it on the road, which are not a joke, so I want to know your opinion whether the scooter it's worth it or not.

I really need help here, back home I drive a Yamaha xj6 that I miss sooooo much! But importing it here is a blood bath and I just need something "kind of" reliable to get me to work everyday.

What are your thoughts?

Regards

Hi Biscotto.
I don`t know exactly about the VGA scooter, but, as you already know, thansen scooters don`t have the reputation for being the most reliable scooter. Hope someone who knows about the VGA will make a comment here. But even if you`ve got a warranty and a service-pack; what good is it for if the scooter doesn`t work now and then? Well, that was the pessimistic opinion, there must be an optimistic tooGrin

Kindly regards Erik.

P.S.: A used "quality" scooter maybe?
